Hi all! It’s Friday. Hence, here is your weekly dose of hmx-weekly, a list of what I’m enjoying, pondering, or working on. Enjoy.
TED TALK I ENJOYED
Celeste Headlee on 10 Ways to have a better conversation. She wants you to “forget all the crap” you’ve learned so far. “There is no reason to learn how to show you’re paying attention, if in fact you’re paying attention”. Watched this repeatedly. 12 Minutes well wort it.
“A good conversation is like a mini skirt, short enough to retain attention, but long enough to cover the subject.”
This website is seen as an exercise in the context of a speed reading course I just started last week. Technically these are just pictures of one and the same dog in different places, but he’s hard to find at times. This aims at accurate visual perception – most of the time. Go find Momo.
A Self-Compassion Exercise. Beautiful article for those, who want to find a mindful approach to dealing with their inner critics. Or you can jump straight to the 5-minute video explaining the process.
MUSIC I ENJOY
Can’t stand it. Here it is. Alter Bridge’s Last Hero (spotify link).
Will Multi-tasking Make You a Scatterbrain? “The heavy multi-taskers performed worse even though their experience and presumed skill at multi-tasking should have made them more effective at these tasks.”
That’s all. If you liked this please forward this email to a friend or two, and suggest they sign up.
Have a great week!
