Hi all! It’s Friday. The end of the year has come, and you’ve stayed with me for 17 issues. I’m very grateful. Your feedback really is encouraging, and makes me think I’m onto something. At this point the email list is very small, but as the saying goes: “small, but powerful”. I believe there’s one thing connecting us: the belief in human potential, and growth. Along these lines, I hope the ideas I shared have somehow influenced what you make of yourself. Here’s more. Enjoy.
Mark Zuckerberg‘s “challenge for 2016 was to build a simple AI to run my home — like Jarvis in Iron Man.” Fun read. Looking forward to the t-shirt cannon.
Thinking about starting off 2017 with another book on mindfulness. This article “6 Mindful Books for Building Resilience” started my research. There’s a few more on the list. Any tips are very welcome.
JAR OF AWESOME
This is a first practice implemented, taken from Tools of Titans. It’s comparable to gratitude exercises. When there’s a big thing you’ve accomplished note it down, and throw the note into a jar. This will become your collection of accomplishments – your jar of awesome, you can revisit when needed.
I often see myself getting lost in pursuing project after project, not taking the time to appreciate what’s been done. Of course there’s many ways to do this.
CAROL DWECK ON MINDSET
Praise the process. I repeat: Praise the process. Carol Dweck on the Growth Mindset, Embracing Failure, and Middle East Peace. This is essential for those who strive for growth. I’m a “fanboy”, too. Also check out her book.
That’s all. All the best, and a happy new year!
